NOVELTY ISLAND + TOM EMLYN + SIMON LOVE & THE OLD ROMANTICS / DJS AFTER TIL 3AM

Ages 18+ free entry. 333 presents. DJ COOPER after til 3am.

NOVELTY ISLAND is the surreal-pop project of Liverpool-based songwriter/producer, Tom McConnell. His debut 2021 album ‘How Are You Coping With This Century?’ gained 5* reviews and support from BBC 6 Music. The live incarnation of Novelty Island have toured the UK and played Glastonbury Festival 2022.

New album 'Wallsend Weekend Television' is out 24th March and is a psychedelic pop delight inspired by classic pop, woozy electronica and Northern wordplay. Recorded in session at Damon Albarn's Studio 13 and Abbey Road Studios 2 & 3, he was given the freedom to explore and create, whittling down from 80 songs into this most expansive album yet. TOM EMLYN's latest release 'The Scrounger EP' is full of experimentation, putting keyboards & guitars into a broken tape recorder and back out again, trying drum machines and layering textures. Last year's album 'I've Seen You In Town' was full of swirling lofi folk and brought together a collection written since he was 17 which took a pandemic to record. The album explores myths and ghosts of Swansea, the cover being a photo of Tom's great-grandfather who worked as a carpenter on the railways. SIMON LOVE (Tapete Records) brings his witty garage, proper pop hits, ELO harmonies and swirling organ back to The Moon, including plenty of songs from last year's album 'Love, Sex and Death etc'. "a potty-mouthed UK version of Father John Misty..fantastic" Shindig. "Pop tunes that nuzzle up to Belle & Sebastian and The Velvet Underground" Q. Simon Love on Bandcamp, Spotify, Twitter, website
